My Apologies

I know that I said I would write more on Sunday, but I didn't. I got on earlier to check email and catch up on everyone's blogs, but I don't usually do my writing until late. Then it happened that CR wanted the computer to play Guild Wars, and I ended up going off in my room to watch Firefly. I bought the DVD set for CR a couple of weeks ago. He's done finished it so I'm hooked on it now and watching it after I come home from work. So that's why there was no post for Sunday.

My sis stayed with us for the weekend. I believe that her and her hubby are still having problems. Bless her heart. She wasn't wanting to leave here. She recently had to get on Paxil CR and while she was here, she was starting to relax. Come Monday though she was back to feeling upset. I don't see those two lasting for too much longer. My poor sis really seems miserable.

My friend T and I went to the funeral home for visitation around 6:30 pm. Our friend that we used to hang around with when we were younger suffered the loss of his mother this weekend. According to him though, she was very sickly and hadn't told him about it. She had emphysema, one lung was collapsed, and spots on the other lung. He said that there really wasn't anything the doctors could do, but to just make her as comfortable as possible. The funeral was Monday. I couldn't go due to work, but T said that she was going into her job early so that she could get off in time to go.

Tuesday will be filled with appointments. I have to see my therapist and the podiatrist. Gee, that sounds like fun (insert sarcasm here).

Well I'm off to find me something to munch on and into the bedroom to watch more of Firefly.

I Will Write More Tomorrow...

but for now I will type a short note. I had to go into work yesterday at 12:00 noon yet again. Let's just say "that is already getting old". I have to get myself up at 9:30 am and get ready and then get Wyrm up at 10:00 to get ready so we can leave here at 11:00. That makes for a hard day at work just trying to stay awake. There isn't really anything going on to jot down. I do have to go to the funeral home tomorrow with my friend T. The mother of a friend of ours just passed away and we are going to visitation to pay our sympathies. Other than that I will spend the day sleeping in and catching up on the ZZZZ's that I missed out on Saturday. Later

The Promise

I know I’ve made some mistakes

And I haven’t been the perfect person too

But listen closely little one

As I make this promise to you

You’re young in age and at heart

To know that something just isn’t right

But that’s what I am here for

And I’ll change it with all my might

I’ll do all that I possibly can

And I won’t give up till I find

Just that certain perfect one

Who is gentle and so kind

I won’t settle for second best

I made that mistake once before

You’re too special little one

And you deserve something much more

So this promise I will keep to you

My darling little son

I will search through all time and in the end

You’ll have the perfect daddy when I’m done

My Week in a Nutshell

Well, Monday began by waking to the fact that I didn't have to go into work. We had skipped out on Friday and didn't learn of the posting that was put up till the weekend when one of Wyrm's buddies from work called to tell us that there was no production for 1st and 2nd shift. We were wondering what was going on but didn't complain and welcomed the nice break from that place. CR came home from school really bummed out due to an incident in his Algebra class. Apparently some kid stole one of the teacher's calculators. As punishment the teacher would be giving out double homework and harder test/quizzes until the calculator was returned. After CR finished telling me this, I proceeded to call the school and voice my opinion to the principal. It's bad enough that CR has trouble in math without that teacher making it harder on him. The teacher could find some other method of punishment instead of doubling the homework. Except for that the day was pleasant and I enjoyed it.

On Tuesday I had appointments with the podiatrist and therapist. Both visits went well. The podiatrist did fuss at me for not using the inserts he gave me. There was no explaining to him that those inserts were hurting my feet so I went back to using them. The pain is finally gone except for every once in awhile when I walk me ankle feels like it wants to give out. That doesn't happen often though. Therapy was the same. I asked about maybe looking into self hypnosis CDs. If nothing else, just get myself to driving and I should have the other problems licked. Getting my license would give me the freedom to be able to leave my place of employment. Therapist said that I seem to be making progress. It's small steps, but at least it's steps moving forward.

Wednesday I returned to work. Same ol' tiresome thing. Called home during my break to talk to CR and see how his day went. His algebra teacher wasn't budging on the homework issue. He still managed to have a pretty good day. Wyrm worked over. That's the reason why I hadn't posted anything this week.

Thursday was paycheck night for us. Same ol' tiresome thing again. Called home to check on CR's day. This time the assistant principal got in on this deal and said that something would be done. Some of the students got together and come up with an idea. One of them would ask her father for a calculator and give that to the teacher in place of the one that was stolen in order to get her to let up on the homework. That really made me angry. That teacher didn't deserve anyone else's calculator as replacement. If she didn't let up by the end of the week, I was going to make another call.

Friday saw a posting placed that I would be working Saturday. The catch was that my start time would be 12:00pm. My normal start time is 2:35pm. I was irritated to say the least. The only good think was that they were talking of us only working 6 hours. If they would just keep their word now. I called home to hear good news from CR. That idiot of a teacher finally seen the light of day and returned the calculator that was given to her back to the student and she said that she would no longer be giving the double homework. I don't know what changed her mind, but I'm glad she did. I know CR's glad too.

Saturday saw me rising to the buzz of the alarm clock going off at 9:30 am for me to get ready so that I could get Wyrm up at 10:00 am. Ugh! I was tired the whole night, but thankfully they kept their word and we were done by 6:00 pm. That still left the backside working and they didn't get done till around 7:00 pm. Finally Wyrm came out about 7:30 pm. On the way home, we drove right into a storm. Major lightening show, some hail, heavy rain, and wind. We arrived home to find the cable out and CR extremely bored. Finally talked him into watching a movie.

Sunday I managed to sleep in. It felt good not to wake to that stupid alarm clock. I got to sleep as long as I needed to. Wyrm and I headed out to Wal-Mart for the groceries and now we are home just goofing. He's playing World of Warcraft and I'm here typing this post and catching up on what my other blogging buddies have been up to. Some time last week, I did the switch to Blogger Beta and finished up today adding my links and such. So far I'm liking that, too.

Well, that's my week in a nutshell. How was yours?

August the Month for Betas? (Blogger in Beta)

Well, I've done gone and found something else new going on in the blogging world. Blogger is undergoing some changes and has launched their Blogger in Beta. I was one of the few that was invited to switch over and yep, I did it. So far I think I'm going to like it. You can add links, add lists, change archives, add labels (categories) and more without having to go into the html to do it. As of yet, I have no clue how it would work with custom designed templates and there was something said that if you are hosting Blogger on an FTP server or something you wouldn't be able to switch. In time, I think this is a very good step up for Blogger compared to others like MSN Spaces, Wordpress, Moveable Type, etc.

Sorry this is short, but I need to get in bed for work in the morning. I want to read a little before actually going to sleep. Right now I'm into CSI: Crime Scene Investigation-Binding Ties.

Coming to You via Windows Live Writer (Beta)

While doing my nightly "blog walking" I stopped at Wes's and found a link to this little handy dandy thing that I am using right now to post this entry. Wes also referred his reader's over to Mike's who posted about Windows Live Writer (Beta) and gave more details on how it works. According to Mike the release was today and already there are some plugins available for download to Live Writer. Miker refers readers to go here to learn about the new plugins from Tim Heuer which at that time he didn't exactly have them ready, but now he does. He's developed two plugins: one for Flickr and one to add tags to entries. Ain't this cool?

Okay let's take a little tour of this thing together, shall we? First I am able to use the font that I like without having to go into the html and change it. All I do now is go up to "Format" and change the font, style, and size from there. It would be alot easier if was in the toolbar above the writing area, but right now I'm not complaining. Second, if you are one that has multiple blogs, with this you are able to add multiple blog accounts and post to each one. I'll see how that works when I get ready to publish this entry. Third, you're able to add photos in you entries and add borders. Example: This photo here was added easily (cannot add photos when uploading to blogger) and there are some nifty things that you can do with your photos. It automatically rotated the photo for me. You can choose the position where you want your photo to be: right, left, or inline. You have choices of borders: drop shadow, photopaper, and inherit from weblog (that's the one I chose so we'll see how it works). You can choose the size of your photo to be small, medium, large, or original. And here's a neat thing. You have options for overlays such as: watermark (which is what I went with) or transformations (black and white, sepia tone, adjust temperature, color pop, sharpen, gaussian blur, and emboss). Of course you can add links with ease and you can also insert a map (cannot add photos when uploading to blogger).Have I wowed you yet? I know just by doing this that I am really going to like this thing. Okay, let's see what else? There is an option of weblayout. This means your working area inside of Live Writer. You have the option of choosing normal, web layout (which is your space's theme in the background), web preview, and html. Okay, what else is there? You can add the urls to whatever your ping service is and there is a spell checker. Okay am I forgetting anything. Oh yeah. Let's see if the Flickr plugin works by adding this photo of mine: (cannot add photos when uploading to blogger, but plugin does work). I know I'm overlooking some things but right now I can't think of anything else to say except that I'm sold! This is something that I will most certainly be using and will probably remove the Zoundry blog writer that I have installed. Why not download this and give it a try for yourself.

Those That Are New and Those That Are Gone

Those That Are New

Along my "blog walks" I have come across some new spaces that I feel are worth mentioning and taking a look-see. Here's a few:

Aplseeds Garden: Tani is a truck driver who also loves gardening and has an album full of some beautiful flowers. She's been blogging on spaces since January 2006 and includes on her space her favorite quotes, links to some gardening sites, and a description of herself.

A Lady and Her Dog Share a Blog: Cee has been blogging since June 2006 and loves to talk about her family and her dog, Kovu. Entries are even written from Kovu's perspective which is very unique. Cee loves to write and is also into fitness. College classes start for her on Monday.

Meg's Garden-Ponderings on My Journey: Meg is an accounting technician who also loves to knit, gardening, and scrapbooking. She's been on spaces since June 2006 and includes on her space photos of her knitting projects and her family. She also has a list of the different ways that she embarrasses her kids.

So Many Smiles So Little Time: PixChik is a mother of 3 who loves photography. She's been blogging on spaces since July 2006. She includes on her space photos of her family and some family fun links.

My Four Leaf Clover: Sendy is a homemake who loves baking, hiking, and, of course, blogging. Sendy's been blogging on spaces since June 2006 and includes on her space a 101 list about herself and a link to some must see sites.

These are just a few, and I know that I'm missing some, but for the life of me, I can't remember who they are. So take a little "blog walk" and welcome these new bloggers to spaces.

Those That Are Gone

Due to the changes that Spaces has underwent these past few weeks, there have been some bloggers that have become so discouraged that they felt a new place to write was in order.

Mocha Momma: Mocha used to be here, but since outgrew MSN Spaces and decided to opt for her own place. She still includes the same charm, cuppa the day, and wit as on her MSN Space. Now she includes a link to her photos at Flickr.

Caffeinated Librarian: CL became disgruntled with MSN Spaces new changes and decided to find a home here. She is now blogging at both places for the time being until she can make up her mind.

Three Hour Tour: Chris has followed suit and can be found "kickin' the tires" over here.

The Dana Files: Dana has hopped over to this place.

Crazy Bloggin' Canuck: Amber's first "digs" was here.

I'm probably overlooking some others, but these are a few that have done/are doing the switcharoo.

I Think I'll Just Ramble Here

Oh, let's see. I don't really know what to write and the writing mood isn't really in me, but I want to post. Doesn't make sense does it? Anyhoo. "Wyrm" and I played hooky from work yesterday. He just didn't want to go in and asked me what I thought on the matter. I told him that if we stayed home that I would rest my foot and that's exactly what I did although it didn't really do any good. It still feels like it's hanging or wanting to pop and was doing that today too. I really need to find a part time job and just let that be it. It would be an extreme cut in income, but the way I see it now it's more important for me to get relief for my foot than it is to have money.

Today was spent at Wal-Mart spending our hard earned money on that necessity called food. I was doing well walking till I got home and it started acting up again.

OK, what else have I done. Oh, yeah. Aunt Tea is now asking for photos for the Flower Garden theme and I've sent mine in. She's already got a collection of some beautiful flower photos. Hop over and check them out.

Rented Elizabethtown to watch but can't seem to get into it. It's boring to me. And yes, I rented it just for the name and the fact that it was filmed here in Kentucky just about 95 miles from where I live. Oh, and the fact that Paula Deen was in it was a plus too. I love watching her cook and hearing her talk.

Can't think of anything else right now. Maybe tomorrow I will be more in the mood to write cause I want to tell ya about some new spaces that I have discovered and who's so dissatisfied with Windows Live Spaces that they have jumped ship and went over to Blogger.

Short and Sweet

It's 2:02 am here. I got home around 12:40 am and went straight to the computer to check my email at MSN and Yahoo, checked out my space to see that they have the statistics finally working, went over to Blogher to look around, and went to my del.icio.us listing to do my nightly reading of everyone on my list. Yes, it has taken me that long, and I still haven't changed into my pj's. Work is going fairly well. As for my foot. The pain is back but not as severe as before. It's an odd kind of stinging/burning sensation on my heel and it still feels like my foot wants to lock up (sorry if you don't understand, it's the only way I can describe it). I will write more this weekend when I'm home and have more time.

Into the Blue

Into the Blue (Widescreen Edition)

This is another one of those movies that I'm glad I got to see it, but I doubt I will be adding it to my library. For me, it took awhile for it to grab my attention, but middle ways I got into it and the ending was pretty good. It still isn't something that I would deem rewatchable.

Sunday

Yesterday

I couldn't have asked for a more perfect day. At first, I thought it was going to be the usual mundane day of getting groceries for the week due to my wonderful employers who most graciously allowed me to work until 2:30 am and "Wyrm" until 4:30 am, but when we got to town, I got a nice surprise. Our first stop was dinner at El Braceros, an authentic Mexican restaurant. After that, "Wyrm" decided that he wanted to see a movie. Naturally I wanted to see Pirates of the Caribbean, but with "Wyrm" and "CR" along, I got outvoted to Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby. In my humble opinion, we should have just saved our money. "Wyrm" and "CR" would say otherwise. The movie didn't really matter. What did matter to me was that I had a wonderful day hanging out with my two favorite guys in the whole world. Yep, I couldn't have asked for a more perfect day.

Really Tired

I am beat, and what a week it's been so far. My first day back to work was Monday. so far my foot seems to be doing pretty good. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Am I glad to be back at work? Moneywise, yes. Dealing with some people and management, no. I can say that my temperment has calmed quite a bit. Alot of my problems could have been due to my foot pain. I believe I was getting mentally and physically exhausted, and didn't realize how down I was getting. I'm already starting to feel somewhat better and have a little more energy. Since going back to work, all this week I've been trying to stay away from the junk food so much. I can muddle through the night a little better. I'm going to try my hardest to stick to this. Enough about work. Finding Windows Live Spaces up and running was the last thing I expected to see. Just from what little I have read on comments left at The Spacecraft, Windows Live Spaces is not being well received. Quite a few people are angry at how it changed all of the work they had done, but for me, I'm liking the new change. Pages are much easier to read with the bigger font. I didn't like how it changed my banners, but that's something that can be easily remedied (okay, maybe not really that easy). I have something to look forward to this weekend, if they don't post it for overtime. I hate to say this, but with my return to work, I probably won't get to post as much as I would like to. I'm just coming home too tired to write. I stay up long enough to "blog walk" and then I go to bed. Which is something that I really need to do right now. Later
