What Kind of Intelligence Do I Have?

Your Dominant Intelligence is Linguistic Intelligence
You are excellent with words and language. You explain yourself well. An elegant speaker, you can converse well with anyone on the fly. You are also good at remembering information and convincing someone of your point of view. A master of creative phrasing and unique words, you enjoy expanding your vocabulary. You would make a fantastic poet, journalist, writer, teacher, lawyer, politician, or translator.

Okay, I'll agree with the first line that I'm excellent with words and language although I feel that excellent is too strong a word. Good, maybe?

The second line about being an elegant speaker and can converse well with anyone on the fly, I don't think so.

Ditto on the third line.

And maybe on the fourth line.

I don't know about fantastic, but I have thought about becoming a journalist and I already consider myself a writer. I do love poetry. Nada on the idea of teacher, lawyer, and there is now way that I would become a politician. Now a translator sounds interesting though. I am fascinated with other languages and would love to learn Spanish, French, Italian, Japanese, and Chinese.

My Thanksgiving Day...

was very enjoyable. I feasted on ham, stuffing, mashed potatoes, and rolls prepared by Mom. It was delish. Wyrm and I were supposed to go and visit his family later on, but he changed his mind at the last minute. Honestly I don't think he was wanting to face going down there for dinner knowing that his late Uncle wouldn't be there. I believe that it still bothers him somewhat losing his Uncle.

Our Christmas tree is up in the living room and looks so nice. It's a silver tree and is decorated with gold and blue ornaments. Mom wanted something different this year. My sis called yesterday wanting to let us know that she was thinking of us. She down sick with bronchitis and can hardly talk. I'm hoping that she gets well soon.

I am thoroughly enjoying my weekend. The wardens at work were so gracious enough to let us have four days off for the holiday weekend. I have done nothing but relax.

Hope that your holidays were enjoyable.

Yes, I do mainly jot things down about my life, but on occasion I do find other things to write about.

Saturday

I am thankful for...

just being alive.

my wonderful son, CR. I couldn't ask for a better son. He brings such joy to my life and happiness. I couldn't imagine life without my boy.

my mom. She has always been there for me through everything. She is my rock.

my sister. Even though we are like night and day and sometimes don't get along, I love my sister with all of my heart.

my husband. He has been through alot with me and has managed to stick in there. Thank you.

still having all of my senses. I couldn't imagine not being able to see my loved ones faces or hear their voices.

being employed. Even though I do constantly complain about my work, I am very much thankful that I do have a job and bring home a paycheck each week. Some are not as fortunate.

for my education. There are still some adults who are illiterate. I don't know what I would do if I wasn't able to read or write.

the years I had with my father before he passed away. I will always treasure those memories.

family traditions and stories that have been passed down through the years.

for my friend T. She has been there for me through thick and thin.

that there is a God and he still watches over me even though I haven't been going to church like I should and have fallen to my old habits once again.

2006 Holiday Survey

I have nothing to write about and saw this on another blog that I read (How I See It by Rachel) so I borrowed the idea.

2006 Holiday Survey

1. Egg Nog or Hot Chocolate? Hot Chocolate

2. Does Santa wrap presents or just sit them under the tree? Santa don't wrap presents. His elves do.

3. Colored lights on tree/house or white? Colored

4. Do you hang mistletoe? Nope

5. When do you put your decorations up? We usually try to put the tree up Thanksgiving weekend. The outside decorations go up whenever there is a warm spell in November. Mom just got done this past week decorating the porch.

6. What is your favorite holiday dish? Mom's stuffing

7. Favorite Holiday memory as a child? The one time where my sister and I got caught sneaking a peek at our presents while mom was out. We forgot to put something back the exact way she had and when she come home she knew that we had been snooping. :)

8. When and how did you learn the truth about Santa? I can't remember exactly how old I was, but I do remember waking up and catching my mom putting the sleeping bags that my sister and I had asked for in the living room. I then proceeded to tell my sister the next morning that there wasn't really a Santa and that Mama was the one who did all of our presents.

9. Do you open a gift on Christmas Eve? Sometimes and then sometimes we just open them all on Christmas Eve.

10. How do you decorate your Christmas Tree? Garland, store bought ornaments, ornaments that Mom has made over the years, lights, sometimes bows, and a tree topper.

11. Snow. Love it? or Dread it? I love it.

12. Can you ice skate? Nope, but wish I did

13. Do you remember your favorite gift? All of my gifts were favorite gifts.

14. What's the most important thing about the Holidays for you? Being with the people that I love the most.

15. What is your favorite Holiday Dessert? Peppermint Bark. I can only find it during this season at Wal-Mart.

16. What is your favorite holiday tradition? We've started one where on Christmas day we usually just have soup and chili and sandwiches for our dinner. Mom got tired of spending her time in the kitchen during the holiday. So now she cooks a Thanksgiving dinner and we just munch on Christmas.

17. What tops your tree? An angel tree topper

18. Which do you prefer giving or receiving gifts? Giving

19. What is your favorite Christmas Song? Silent Night, Do You Hear What I Hear?, Little Drummer Boy, The Carol of the Bells (?)

20. Candy Canes! Yuck or Yum? Most definitely yum. Especially the cherry candy canes.

Thursday

Yesterday was filled...

with gloomy skies as Wyrm and I headed out for my therapy appt. Actually these past two visits aren't really therapy. Right now he's trying to get my meds straightened out so I won't feel so groggy and drowsy. I have felt that way for quite some time now and these past two weeks it has let up some. I'm not feeling the urge as much to just drop where I am and take a nap at work.

After we came home, mom and I worked on putting the new bed that she just purchased for CR together. We managed to get the main frame done. All that's left is just the drawers and headboard. Mom decided that it was time that CR had a new bed to replace his old kiddish one. CR now owns a storage bed that has a bookshelf type headboard and 3 drawers in the bottom. Pretty nifty.

The rumor mill that is grinding at work is spewing out that we may not be working this Saturday and that I may possible get a 4 day weekend for Thanksgiving. That would be so lovely.

I managed to complete the online debt counseling that I was supposed to do before my paperwork would be filed. It's the last thing that I needed to get done. Now my lawyer should file the papers and then contact me when the court date will be. In the meantime, I still need just a few more things to pick up for Christmas. I have cut way down this year on what I normally spend on Christmas presents. After the holidays, I'm going to try to put back a little bit each week for savings and try to come up with a budget plan and stick to it. Let's see if I actually can.

It's time for me to retire to my bedroom. I'm still on CSI: Miami Season 4. I like to watch one or two episodes before I call it a night.

Later

Tuesday

Another day gone...

and another dollar made. Still nothing of relevance going on here. I did call my lawyer yesterday for the information on my credit counseling that I am supposed to do. Once I get that completed then all of my paperwork will be filed, and I will move on to the next step. Although I'm dreading having my paycheck garnished, I'm eager to get it going so I can be that much closer to being done with all of my debt problems. I'm getting my Christmas shopping done as much as I can possible do now before it all goes into effect.

Wednesday is another therapy appointment for me. This visit will pertain to how I'm doing since I have cut back on my prescription. There are some days where I feel anxious, but I'm doing somewhat better on being so drowsy. I'm still dozing off in the car on the way in to work but not everyday as before. So with that note I do believe that I will end my playtime in the next few minutes and head off to bed.

Later

Monday

Well, this weekend...

was the most relaxing that I've had in a long time. The wardens at work were "gracious" enough to free us for the whole weekend (Saturday included) which was a total shock. As of leaving work on the last night, our union contract was voted in favor for and has already went into effect. We get a .20 cent increase this month and then .25 cent increase in November of 2007 and then another .25 cent increase in 2008. That's pretty much it except for a one year freeze on insurance premiums, but whose to say that they won't double the increase the following year.

It was a cold, cold rain on the way home that night. At times it was raining so hard that Wyrm couldn't hardly see the road. We finally drove out of it when we got close to home. There was enough of a bite in the air to chill me all the way through just from getting out of the car and hurrying to the front door. It was soon remedied by getting under the covers. I went to sleep somewhere around 3:00 AM and did not get up till around 2:30 PM. I was in much need of sleep. I felt very rested when I woke. Saturday was pretty much spent at home just loafing and relishing in the fact that we were off from work on a Saturday. That night however Wyrm was really annoying. He decided at the last that he wanted to watch movies. That's fine and dandy except for my son and I were already using the DVD machine watching our own movie. We got booted out so we headed off into another room to watch tv. Wyrm stayed up till after 6:00 AM this morning and oh was it ever annoying. I just couldn't get to sleep.

Sunday was spent doing the weekly grocery shopping and nothing much else. All in all, it was a great weekend.

Later

Thursday

I thought...

that when I went to my space today that things looked a little bit different. I see that the Spaces Live team has updated again and added some new things to play with. I maybe doing a little tweaking this weekend.

Well, I went and voted Tuesday. It was the first time that I have ever voted. As Wyrm said, " I did my patriotic duty". I also voted on our union contract the same day. The contract was voted down by 7 votes. What I'm hearing now is that we have another meeting on Friday to vote on the exact same contract (no changes made). The union will be putting it to us that if we vote it down a second time then we will go on strike. Now alot of people are changing their tune. They're not wanting to go without their paychecks.

Nothing else new going on here.

Later

Tuesday

Sorry that I...

haven't been posting anything lately. There just isn't really anything of significance going on right now except for our union contract will be voted on today. When I went into work yesterday the bargaining committee members were there passing out copies of the highlights of the proposals. A huge majority of the people on my shift are really disappointed in it. I doubt that the new proposals will be voted in. Have to wait and see.

Also today Wyrm and I will be voting for the elections before we head into work. I decided on the ride home that I will participate this year. This will be the first time that I have ever voted in the elections.

I guess you could explain my absence with the fact that I've pretty much been coming home from work and watching CSI: Miami Season 3. I'm almost done with it and will be starting Season 4 in the next few days.

Hope your day is a good one and don't forget to vote today.

Later

Thursday

Nothing New...

to report. Just the same ol' same ol' thing going on. Yep, when I went in to work today, sure enough, they had it posted that we will be working Saturday. Oh well, if they want to be that ridiculous and pay me overtime then I will eat it up.

I'm still in the process of filing bankruptcy. Just right now I'm kind of having an irritating time trying to round up everything that the lawyer needs to fill out my paper work. I managed to find some of the things they were wanting but am still looking for more papers. And I forgot to ask about the credit counseling site that I'm supposed to go to and complete before my papers can be filed. I'll eventually get everything together.

Yesterday was Wyrm's last day of his vacation. I'm sure going to miss leaving at 11:30 PM. I need to remember to put my book that I'm currently reading in my bag to take with me.

The nights have taken on a chill. I absolutely did not want to get up yesterday. I love this kind of weather where I can snuggle down under the covers and behind Wyrm's back. He just radiates heat and makes for some warm snuggling.

Sigh. I guess I shall call it a night and head off to bed, but not before watching some more CSI: Miami. :)

Later

Wednesday

It's Humpday

That day that sits right in the middle of the week letting most people know that it will soon be the end of their work week, but more than likely not me. Humpday usually means to me, "When are they going to post that stupid notice that we're working this weekend?!" Work is bothersome for me, but it's a paycheck. Here's the kicker though. Right now our team members who are representing us are in negotiations with our employers for our next 3-year union contract. Word that is grinding out of the rumor mill is that our employer wants to cut our shift premium and just give a flat .50 cent raise. In other words, everyone on 2nd shift would be taking a .50 cent paycut. I know that it doesn't sound like much, but when $50 per week is cut out of my hubby's paycheck for premium health insurance that requires an $800 yearly deductible before it will even pay 80 percent plus a $25 co-pay for each visit yeah to me it's quite alot. I don't have Saturdays off anymore, any time there is a holiday coming up I have to work till the wee hours (think anywhere from 4 to 6 AM) of the morning the night before (and then sleep most of the holiday away), rules and guidelines for our product gets changed on a whim and then our product goes on hold causing more overtime because we then have to rework it, no I don't really think that it is fair to take that shift premium away. Especially when I have been there 6 years and only get 2 paid weeks vacation and holidays while my hubby who has been there 10 years only gets 3 paid weeks vacation and holidays. In all honesty, I feel that my hubby deserves a little more with the years of service that he has put in. Our job is strenuous on our bodies. We stand on concrete 8+ hours and our work contains alot of repetitive movement causing joint and tendon wear and pain. That's why I complain about my hands hurting sometimes. There is no word yet on when we can vote on the proposal.

My lovely therapy session today consisted of me mostly informing my therapist that I have been sluggish for quite sometime now and am wondering if it could be my meds. Let's see, I'm sleeping for about 8-9 hours each night and when the alarm goes off I'm hitting the snooze button cause I just simply can't get awake enough and then on my way in to work I'm dozing off in the car. The thing is my hubby won't let me sleep. He says I'm sleeping too much as it is. Well that may be true and all but it doesn't change the fact that I'm sleepy and still need to doze off. About middle ways of my shift I get tired enough that somedays I would just love to lay down in the floor and take a nap, but can't. Yes, I am taking my meds during the day when the doctor said that I needed to be taking them before bed. The thing is that when I was doing that after awhile I started having weird dreams regularly that would jerk me awake and my legs would jump. That got to be really annoying and I wasn't getting any rest at night at all. Now I'm able to sleep at night much better it's just that I need alot of it. I mean here while back when I was on vacation I was sleeping about 12 hours each day. I would wake totally refreshed, but that is alot of hours just to sleep. So for the next couple of weeks it has been suggested that I drop back on my milligrams and see how well I fare on that. If I don't do so well, then the next option will probably be to change my medication. I'll know more in a couple of weeks.

I purchased CSI Miami: Season 4 for mom or I guess you could say that I bought it for me since I am closing this and heading off to my bedroom to watch it.
